taped a baseball to make sure the spin goes in the right direction or record the pitch to play it in
slow motion. Well, you can get those same stats and beyond by using pitchLogic’s smart
baseball.
F5 Sports, the company heading pitchLogic, is one of our most recent partners that came to us
to develop and bring to life a customized web application experience. The company transforms
movement data and gives personalized tips for improvement - in particular when it comes to
pitching. This is the only pitching technology that utilizes a smart baseball wired with hardware
that can pick up even the slightest movement while being thrown in the air. Instead of relying on
the eye, which we know can’t pick up slight fluctuations or exact speed, a coach or player can
see the most detailed stats possible inside a user-friendly mobile app, accompanied by
personalized tips for improvement. Moreover, this is the only baseball on the market that is
made in the United States.
With over $5 Million in funding, pitchLogic is just getting started. We transformed pitchLogic’s
pricing model from one-time payments for the baseball to a SaaS subscription model, leading to
a 300%+ increase in sales, along with consistently growing revenue. The new model allows
pitchLogic to protect their hardware technology and offer it at no additional cost during the active
membership, while simply charging users for the time they use the ball and mobile app. The
mobile-first web application we built is supercharged with an API integration that connects with
the existing mobile app, allowing for users to effortlessly buy a membership and manage their
account through the website. Some other features we integrated include a powerful backend
admin with automated shipping labels, gift memberships, baseball leather exchanges and many
more. Building a custom web application like this from scratch allows for much more
customization, 3rd party integrations and flexibility.
